SE K600i/K608i/V600i now Mac-supported

If you download and install Mac OS X 10.4.3, released this week you will no longer need to modify iSync or Address Book. All three versions of the phone are now supported by Apple. (Information from apple.com, and tested with my K608i and iMac G5.)

  1. Are you able to send SMS and dial contacts within Address Book? I can't seem to get that working in 10.4.3 with my K608i. iSync is working fine, and so is transferring files to the phone.

You're absolutely right! I can't, even though the menu options were added (I don't use Address Book often). This doesn't help you unfortunately.

  3. Joshua - are you able to use a USB cable to connect to your mac? or are you using bluetooth. From what I have read, there is no mac USB driver for the SE K608i. I'm considering getting this phone, but I have an iBook with no Bluetooth.

  4. While the USB cable comes in the box, it didn't do anything for me. There's no memory card slot in the phone, so the phone can't expose that over USB. Likewise charging via USB doesn't happen (seems only newer Sony Ericssons do this). I think about the only thing you could do is use it as a broadband modem, but I don't have an Internet plan so I can't use this.
At one point there was an issue with Sony Ericsson USB and Mac OS X causing kernel panics - a program K750iGrabber was written to solve this issue.
